Our Story
DuBlasé was born from a belief that life's greatest achievements deserve to be celebrated, and that success carries a responsibility to create opportunities for others.
For Founder and CEO Darrin Eakins, that belief was shaped during his college years, where brotherhood, friendship, leadership, service, and ambition intersected. It was in those moments of celebration and impact where the spirit DuBlasé was formed: a vision to create something that merges meaningful experiences with impactful purpose.
Introduced to the industry of spirits through an uncle and family traditions, Eakins set out to create a Founder-led brand that believes business success and social impact can advance together. After nearly two years of collaboration with a master distiller, that vision became reality.
Guided by its philosophy of "Whiskey with Purpose," DuBlasé is not only what's inside the bottle, but also what becomes possible because of it,
Crafted for Celebration. Distilled for Impact. A portion of all proceeds supports programs and initiatives, through our philanthropic arm, The DuBlasé Foundation. Because while whiskey may bring people together, purpose is what moves communities forward.
From our headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, to communities across the country, we invite you to raise a glass not only to life's special moments, but to the opportunities we can create together through them.
Origin OF NAME
For Founder and CEO Darrin Eakins, naming his whiskey was about legacy.
Originally launched under the name Golden Age Whiskey, a nod to its parent company Golden Age Innovations, Eakins soon realized the brand needed something more personal. Something that told his story, one rooted in excellence and purpose, and a journey that began on the campus of Florida A&M University.
As a proud life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a Greek-letter organization, dedicated to scholarship, leadership, and service. Eakins found inspiration in a cherished piece of his own history: his line number. In the world of Divine Nine Greek-letter organizations, new members are often introduced in groups called lines. Each individual is assigned a number based on the order in which they “cross” into the organization.
Eakins was number 11 of a 12-member line that debuted in the spring of 2008. In fraternity culture, the 1st member on a line is often referred to as the "Ace", and by design, the 11th member is honored as the "Double Ace."
From this, DuBlasé (pronounced Du-bläˈ-say) was born. A stylized reimagining of the phrase “Double Ace”.
As an ode, Eakins designed the DuBlasé bottle with a subtle tribute to his brotherhood: a medallion under the logo etched with 12 edges, each representing a member of his line. It’s a quiet acknowledgment of the men who helped shape his journey — and the spirit of celebration and camaraderie that lives in every pour.
