FAMU Alumni Joins Forces With Capital Cigars To Host FAMU Homecoming Event Powered by DuBlasé Whiskey

DuBlasé whiskey is pleased to announce it is joining forces with Capital Cigars in Tallahassee, Fla. to host Sip & Smoke, a Homecoming event scheduled for Oct. 29, 2021 at Capital Cigars during Florida A&M University’s 2021 Homecoming. This event will take place at Capital Cigars, 3030 S Monroe Street, Suite #11, Tallahassee, FL 32301 from 8PM to 2AM EST.

FAMU Homecoming is a rich tradition that is nationally renowned for its festivities and spirited events spread over the course of a week, in which FAMU Alumni come back to the University’s campus to reunite and celebrate its history and legacy. This year, DuBlasé is hosting its first-ever FAMU Homecoming event while celebrating the 15 year anniversary of the FAMU Freshman Class of 2006. DuBlasé samples will be provided throughout the evening while attendees mingle and reconnect. “We can’t wait to join everyone on the highest of seven hills this Homecoming. FAMU is my second home and I am looking forward to celebrating the same comradery amongst college friends that initially inspired the brand’s conception,” said Darrin Eakins, founder and CEO of DuBlasé whiskey.  

As a part of Homecoming traditions, DuBlasé and Capital Cigars encourage attendees to support the FAMU Freshman Class of 2006 Endowed Scholarship by making an online donation. “In 2006, I made the decision to attend FAMU and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I am excited for the future of the university and am honored to help promote this scholarship fundraiser in the name of our freshmen class,” Eakins said.

Eakins, who is currently a member of the J.R.E Lee Jacksonville Chapter of the FAMU Alumni Association, is eager to help the organization fulfill its core mission of promoting Florida A&M University as an institution of higher learning and a center for cultural diversity.
